The Institut für Freie Berufe (IFB) at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg was established in 1964. The Institute emphasize the connection to the scientific research and apprenticeship at the university about the essence and the impact of the liberal professions in society, economic and government as well as the independence towards economic and social factions.

The responsible association of the Institut für Freie Berufe is the “Institution of liberal professions at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg association” registered in Nuremberg.
